Revitalizing City Spaces Through Art and Design

October 8, 2017 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

This Milwaukee Film Festival’s special topic panel is part of film festival’s Public Forum series.  It’s free and open to the public, with conversations that engage community members, festival audiences, and guests to discuss themes and issues that emerge from festival films.

If recent years are any indication, suburban growth is a thing of the past.  The new focus is on America’s urban core and the public spaces within those cities.  “Revitalizing City Spaces Through Art and Design” will talk about how contemporary street art, architecture, “creative peacemaking,” and collaborative educational workshops have become key factors in this revitalization effort, and the possibilities and consequences that come with it.  For more info, go to: https://www.facebook.com/events/145885645997444/?ref=br_rs.

The panel discussion is moderated by UWM’s Dr. Arijit Sen, associate professor of Architecture and Urban Planning.  To RSVP for this event, contact Anique Ruiz at anique@uwm.edu.
