Social Work Assistant Professor Kiley McLean presented a “Brief & Brilliant” talk at the Society for Social Work Research 2026 Annual Conference in January. The session, “Tackling the Ableism Epidemic,” confronts the lack of investment in people with disabilities.
Brief & Brilliant presentations highlight talented social work researchers who can reach a broad audience by connecting their research with real-world implications. These sessions translate social work research, engage a broad audience, and emphasize the public relevance of scholarly work.
Dr. McLean’s research focuses on systems-level inequities affecting autistic adults and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including disparities in healthcare, education, employment, criminal justice, and community living.
