Is this trip right for you?

• Some hotels are built in the traditional local style and have no air-conditioning. During heat waves, these hotels can become uncomfortable.
• Road travel between cities will often be rough and bumpy and can take longer than expected due to local conditions. This tour is not recommended for people who have difficulty walking. Costa Rica properties may be spread across the grounds and connected by outdoor walking paths; access to main facilities may involve walking, steps or uneven surfaces.
• There are several days with over 5 hours of driving. This tour includes travel by motorboat.
• Expect 3-4 hours of walking on included sightseeing days, as well as considerable time standing.
• On this tour, you may need to walk on uneven and challenging terrain, navigate steep steps or slopes and encounter cobblestone streets.

All participants are initially placed on the waitlist so staff can verify membership and roommate information. A deposit of $1,500 is due when you are confirmed to the trip roster. Half of your remaining balance will be due on Friday, August 21, 2026. Cancellations before August 21, 2026 will result in a refund of your deposit, minus any reservation alteration fees from our airfare and hotel partners. Trip fees are not refundable. Cancellations on or after August 21, 2026 may result in the loss of all trip fees. To guarantee a refund of some or all of your trip payment after August 21, 2026, you may wish to buy personal travel insurance. UWM Travel Abroad insurance for major medical while overseas is included in the price of the trip and provides coverage for last minute cancellation due to a doctor-confirmed medical inability to travel. A plan brochure with coverage details will be emailed to all travelers. Final balances are due by Friday, October 16, 2026.
