The Community World Music Ensemble (CWME) is open to all community members (ages 12 and older) and UW-Milwaukee students with an interest in learning the musical techniques and performance styles of folk and popular genres from different corners of the globe. Regular offerings include Trinidadian steel pan (Steel PANthers) and Guatemalan marimba (Marimba Pantera), with other offerings available on a rotating basis depending on instructor availability. The CWME is co-directed by Jack Forbes (Marimba Pantera) and Gabe Willoughby (Steel PANthers). Previous music experience is encouraged but not required. No prior experience on these instruments is required.
Registrants may participate in rehearsals for either or both ensembles, based on interest and availability. Any questions can be directed to percussion@uwm.edu.

Conjunto Comunitario de Músicas Mundiales
El Conjunto Comunitario de Músicas Mundiales (CWME) está abierto a todos los miembros de la comunidad (12 años y mayores) y estudiantes de UW-Milwaukee que tengan interés en aprender las técnicas musicales y los estilos de interpretación de géneros folclóricos y populares de diferentes partes del mundo. Los ofrecimientos regulares incluyen el steel pan de Trinidad (Steel PANthers) y la marimba guatemalteca (Marimba Pantera), con otros ofrecimientos disponibles en una forma rotativa, dependiente en la disponibilidad de maestros. El CWME está co-dirigido por Jack Forbes (Marimba Pantera – se habla español) y Gabe Willoughby (Steel PANthers). Se recomienda tener experiencia musical previa, pero no es necesaria. No se requiere experiencia previa en estos instrumentos.
