UWM roofs have fall and other hazards. The building list below provides the various hazards present and required proper PPE for UWM personnel. Administrative controls such as safety watches and temporary barriers may be used. Personnel shall plan accordingly to conduct work safely.
In addition to the PPE stated below, the following measures shall be taken:
UWM Facilities – When working around roof edges and a fall system is not available, the employee shall use either the portable guardrail system or the mobile fall restraint system (water bag).
Students, professors or non-facilities personnel – must obtain authorization and training per the Roof Access Procedure.
Contractors – must assess the fall hazards and submit a fall protection plan to your UWM project manager.
Architectural Urban and Planning (AUP)
- Hazards – Fall from height. Guardrails are present, but not interconnected.
- PPE – Must be 15 feet away from leading edge. If working close to the edge, you must implement an approved administrative control.
Art Building
