Bio

Ashley Steinberg – designer, aspiring illustrator, the one looking for the pet at the party. Inspiration in design has always come from my experiences in life; fortunate to have spent time abroad, these everyday experiences and the people I’ve meet along the way resonate-with and inspire me to always expand my knowledge of the world, grow as a designer, and translate my knowledge into effective, creative design. The city of Milwaukee has been an incredible, unexpected source of inspiration for me, and I hope to play a role in bettering our beautiful city as a creative professional.

Project Description

Culture Box – is a self portrait and examination of one’s own culture through design. Through social organization, customs & traditions, language, arts & literature, religion, government, and economic systems; our lives are directly affected by the make-up of our culture, our everyday experiences, and the people we meet along the way. So what does that look like? And what happens when we immerse ourselves in cultures that vastly differ from our own? Culture Box examines my personal culture, and how a year abroad studying at Chiba University in Japan fits into the make-up of that culture.
