Bio

Michigan born, Wisconsin raised, Donovan is a senior in the Design & Visual Communication undergraduate program at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. An effective graphic designer creates change and improves what already exists. A designer is someone who understands the powerful influence design can have on a target demographic.

Donovan’s current position as a graphic designer II at UWM Union Marketing allows him to improve my design skills. He has worked on campaigns for both campus departments and student organizations, taking their concepts to create branding in the form of banners, posters, and flyers.

Donovan is a detail-oriented, but still likes to have fun, and has an outgoing personality. In his free time he enjoys biking, playing tennis, watching YouTube, learning odd facts, trying new things, and following the major tech trends.

Description

I have been making things from a young age, such as janky wooden ramps, wooden cars, and paper creations. Paper airplanes are my favorite things to make from my childhood. As we age, I think we forget about how important it is to play and not lose your inner child. This manifesto is all about playing and having fun. I designed the experience on how to assemble the paper airplane. It comes in an envelope branded as air mail, and with a 3d printed stand to display it after creating. As the user folds the plane they can read along to learn about my manifesto and the folding creates a new message. This project has created a real positive response with whoever gets to fold it.
