Bio

Ming Gao is a senior design student from UWM. He is from China. He came to the United States to attend college after graduating from high school. This is his fourth year in America. When he was a freshman, his major was business because his family, especially his father, really wanted him to go into business. However, Ming did not like these things from the very beginning, and his father forced him to choose this major. Later, Ming went to the Milwaukee Art Museum with a friend. He found a lot of interesting designs there and some very famous ones. Ming was instantly captivated by the atmosphere. So, he decided to change his major to design after the first semester. Ming did not tell his dad. This was a decision he made by himself without his father’s consent. Later, his father not only did not criticize him but also encouraged him to stick to what he likes. Ming really likes design, and he providing new ideas. His spoken English is not very good. Sometimes he thinks of something, but he cannot express it accurately in English. He will continue to study English in the future.
