Bio: Carter Schmitz is an experienced Strength and Conditioning Professional who has had the opportunity to work with athletes ranging from youth to the professional level. He has worked at several private training facilities, organizations, and universities before starting his own athlete performance business, Carter Schmitz Training Systems (CSTS).
He successfully grew CSTS from 7 athletes in a 300 square foot room, to 110+ athletes in a 3,000 square foot training facility. CSTS is still in full operation today and provides complete training services for athletes in the Northern Milwaukee communities.
Carter received his Master of Science degree from UW-Milwaukee in June 2023. His thesis research focused on ACL injury prevention mechanisms and their connections to motor learning, attentional focus, and complexity. As a graduate student Carter served as a Teaching Assistant for multiple classes including Anatomical Kinesiology and Biomechanics.
Carter served as an Ad Hoc Lecturer at UWM, teaching Anatomical Kinesiology in Fall 2023 and Spring 2024.
As a professor, he prioritizes cultivating learning environments that are welcoming, engaging, and creativity provoking. He challenges his students, like his athletes, to explore, problem solve, and develop a diverse skill set.
