Bio
Dr. Xiaobei Dong’s research focuses on health disparities and how health policies affect health care access and service utilization for disadvantaged populations, such as people with disabilities, racial/ethnic minorities, and older adults with chronic conditions. Her health policy focus includes Medicaid and Medicare. Using national survey and administrative data, she has examined the effects of the Affordable Care Act Medicaid expansion on health insurance coverage and health care access for people with disabilities, the impact of the Medicare Part D medication therapy management program on racial and ethnic disparities in medication adherence, and racial and ethnic disparity implications associated with Star Ratings, the Medicare Part C and D plan quality assessment program.
