Bio

Chibuzor Abasilim is an Assistant Professor at the Joseph J. Zilber College of Public Health, University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. He received his PhD and MPH degrees in Epidemiology from the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), School of Public Health and completed postdoctoral training at the UIC – School of Public Health, Division of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences.

Research

His research aims to characterize biomarkers of environmental exposures as they intersect with pathways of endogenous hormones, genes and metabolic traits in the development of multiple chronic conditions. Specifically, he investigates the etiology of diabetes, hypertension and chronic kidney disease particularly in understudied and minoritized populations.  Additionally, a portion of his research is dedicated to studying the role of occupation in health and disease using multiple surveillance systems.
