Biographical Sketch

Frank O'Neal's research interests lie at the intersection of political theory and postmodernism, shaped by his life experiences outside of the university. He draws inspiration from navigating the tensions between political, economic, and cultural structures and examining their power over individuals and society.

Frank earned his M.A. in Development Studies from Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand, before returning to Wisconsin, where he worked as a substitute teacher and farmhand during the pandemic. Now in his fourth year as a Ph.D. student in Political Science at UW-Milwaukee, he balances his academic work with a full-time job as an arborist, climbing trees and wielding chainsaws, or back home in the Driftless region spending time with his family and their cat, Minsky.
