55th Anniversary- Distinguished Alumni Nominations

In celebration of the UW-Milwaukee College of Nursing 55^th Anniversary, the College will recognize an additional five distinguished nursing alumni in addition to the fifty that were previously recognized in 2016.

The selection of alumni will be based on those who, through their lives and work, exemplify the breadth, diversity, culture, and spirit of the College of Nursing and its research, academics, practice, and community engagement. Distinguished alumni selected for this award will be honored at a special anniversary event in October 2021.

Eligibility

Living alumni with nursing degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee who have significantly impacted families, communities, the college, or the nursing profession at the local, state, national or international level.

Criteria  

Please describe the nominee’s contributions in one or more of the following areas in 300 words or less.

• A sustained and significant impact on patient, population or community health;
• A major innovation that transformed health care, education or policy;
• A life-long contribution that has advanced the science or clinical practice of nursing;
• An extraordinary impact on the College of Nursing.

Selection

The Awards Committee is led by Dean Kim Litwack and composed of past awardees, alumni, faculty, and the Development Director. The committee will review all nominations and make the final selection for the award recipients.

Nomination Process

Individuals may nominate one or more alumni. Self-nominations are welcome. Nominations are not confidential, and nominees will be contacted to provide supporting information.

The nomination deadline is June 30, 2021.
