Lending Policies for Outside Libraries

UW-Milwaukee Interlibrary Loan Lending
The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Interlibrary Loan office provides lending and copying services to outside libraries and institutions.

If you’re an academic, public, or special library, we accept either OCLC requests to the symbol ‘GZN’ or webform requests (if OCLC is not an option for your institution). If your institution needs a webform login, please submit your library’s information in the Lending ILLiad Account Request Form or contact ILL staff at libill@uwm.edu and we will register your institution to use the webform to make interlibrary loan requests.

Policies and Charges

We accept requests by:	OCLC or web request only. If you would like to submit a request via the webform and do not have an account, please submit your library’s information using the Lending ILLiad Account Request Form. You can also call, 414-229-4493, or email, libill@uwm.edu, to arrange a logon for this service. No ALA forms by email, please.
Loan Periods:	• 20 weeks • Renewals are possible, typically 4 weeks
Loan Charges:	• In State – $7.50 • Out of State – $15, for Rush add $5 and provide your FedEx or UPS account number in the request • International – $20 USD or 2 IFLA vouchers • Corporate – $20, for Rush add $20 and provide your FedEx or UPS account number in the request • Billed via IFM (preferred) or invoice
Copy Charges:	• In State – $7.50 • Out of State – $15 • International – $20 USD or 2 IFLA vouchers • Corporate – $20, for Rush add $20 • Billed via IFM (preferred) or invoice
Copies:	• 50 pages (maximum) per request • 20 print exposures per request from microformats • Sent via Odyssey, Article Exchange, Email

Billing and Shipping

Billing:	IFM or invoice monthly
Payment:	Accept checks and money orders. If you cannot pay with a check or money order, we will accept IFLA vouchers. Credit cards and postal vouchers are not accepted.

Shipping:	Library rate for state and U.S. libraries. Air mail international loans. Odyssey, email, Article Exchange copies. Federal Express or UPS for Rush requests (please provide a FedEx or UPS account number in request).
