2025 December Honors Commencement

2025 December Honors Commencement

Congratulations on your exceptional achievement! We invite you to this year’s honors commencement ceremony at the College of Letters and Science to celebrate your success and dedication. We look forward to honoring you during this milestone in your academic journey. This information and form is ONLY for students graduating with honors from the College of Letters & Science. If you are looking for general commencement information, visit uwm.edu/graduation.

Tuesday, December 9, 2025, 5:30 pm (doors open at 5 pm)
UWM Bolton Hall, Room 150 (3210 N Maryland Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53211)

At the Honors Commencement, you will receive your honors cord to wear with your graduation gown and mortarboard at the campus-wide commencement on Sunday, December 21, 2025.

The Honors Commencement recognizes all Letters & Science students who have earned academic honors. We recommend comfortable shoes since you will be called up to the stage to receive your honor cord and business casual attire. (collared shirt, nice jeans, khakis, casual dress or skirt, etc.)
Name(Required)
We want to pronounce your name correctly when we call you to the stage – please help by telling us how. For example, Deanna Schauer might be Dee-Na Shore (like at the ocean) or Dee-Anna Shower (like a light rain). Even if you think your name is obvious, please provide the phoentic spelling if you are attending the ceremony.
RSVP(Required)
Please enter a number from 0 to 4.
We are seeking a graduating student of the Class of 2025 to be the student speaker at the Fall Honors Commencement ceremony. The student selected will give a 3–5-minute speech. If you are interested in being considered for this speaking opportunity, please provide a brief summary of your unique path to UWM, how you have been shaped by your time here on campus (what are some of the most impactful moments, what was a turning point, etc.), and what you hope to see yourself and your fellow classmates achieve in the coming years after graduation.
We’re sorry you are unable to join us for the Letters & Science Honors Commencement. If you wish to pick up your cord ahead of the Sunday, December 21, all-campus commencement so that you can wear it with your cap and gown, you may do so in Holton 142 (Letters & Science advising office) starting on Monday, December 15 and during these times:
  • Mondays through Thursdays from 9 am to 3:30 pm
  • Fridays from 9 am to noon
Your certificate can also be picked up during these times.

Alternatively, just the cord can be picked up immediately prior to full commencement on December 21st at the UWM Panther Arena. Look for the Honors table in the area where students will be lining up to march in.

You’re invited!
