Biographical Sketch

Hello! My name is Laura Mintel and I advise first-year students in the College of Letters & Sciences. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Theology from Boston College and my Master’s degree in Student Affairs and Higher Education from Marquette. I know that college can be overwhelming, and I am here to help! I can help you clarify your academic and career goals, select appropriate courses, understand the University’s requirements and policies, and connect with the many wonderful resources here at UWM. Your academics are an important part of your college experience but what you learn in the classroom can be enhanced by what you get involved in outside of it. I am happy to discuss ways for you to engage with campus experiences such as student organizations, student programming, and studying abroad. I look forward to working with you!
