Recruitments for UWM employees follow standard procedures, and we encourage UWM employees, particularly those involved in recruiting and hiring, to become familiar with the legal issues that may arise during the recruitment process, including diversity and affirmative action, open meetings and public records laws, creating and retaining documentation, and candidate confidentiality:

The Office of Legal Affairs offers virtual training once per week for employees, and all employees serving on search and screen committees are encouraged to attend a session before the review of any applicants begins.
