About the Program

Beyond GEMS will provide a year of hands-on opportunities through networking mentorships and exposure to local industry to underserved young women, with access to the decision-makers in our communities who will support young women with a strong portfolio for a future network. This program was made possible, in part, by the Women & Girls Fund of Waukesha County who awarded a grant to UWM at Waukesha Continuing Education in 2021.

  • Connect with area professionals for a mentorship and opportunities to job-shadow
  • Develop an education plan with set goals and knowledge of how those goals are attainable
  • Develop coping mechanisms to deal with the stressors in their lives
