Owen Thompson wins Best Paper Prize

Asst. Professor Owen Thompson wins the Best Paper Award from Contemporary Economic Policy. The editorial board identified his paper “Drug Policy and Intergenerational Income Mobility in the United States” as the single best across all those published by the journal in volume 34 (2016). Congratulations!

Thompson’s paper suggests that decriminalizing nonviolent drug possession would substantially increase intergenerational mobility among low income populations. Thompson’s research has been supported by the Niho Faculty Excellence Fund.
