Michael Coon (PhD 2012) is the winner of the biennial Eckstein Paper Prize given by the Eastern Economic Association (EEA).
He received the Prize for his paper “Walking ATMs: Do Crime Rates Affect Remittances of Mexican Migrants in the United States?” Eastern Economic Journal (Winter 2015, Volume 41, Issue 1, pp 6–23).
The Eckstein Prize honors Otto Eckstein, a Harvard professor and former president of the EEA. It is awarded biennially to the best article in the Eastern Economic Journal and Mike won for the period 2015 -16. The Prize and a $1,000 award will be presented at the 2018 EEA conference in Boston.
