Due to the introduction of Workday, the Universities of Wisconsin System will be decommissioning the OBIEE application. Since OBIEE’s go-live in March 2019, UWM authors have created a collection of shared dashboards with UWM data warehouse data to meet a wide variety of campus needs. Many of these dashboards will be recreated in other platforms .Please expand the menu below for a complete list of dashboards and their transition status. Due to limited resources, some dashboards may not be recreated. This section will be updated as transitioned dashboards become available.
OBIEE Shared Dashboards
- Academic Standing: Identify students for a given term who have an academic standing other than No Action. https://uwm.edu/institutional-research/academic-standing-report/
- Application to Enrollment Funnel:This dashboard combines both application/admission data with enrollment data to show the progression of students from the time of application to the time of enrollment. Users can filter the data in a number of different ways, including by school/college, plan, and subplan to see counts of applications, admits, matriculations, and enrollments. This dashboard is updated weekly. https://uwm.edu/institutional-research/reports/admissions/funnel/
- Application to Enrollment Funnel Final: This dashboard is identical to the weekly application to enrollment funnel dashboard, except it provides the final load data. This dashboard is updated every term and provides 5 years of historical data. https://uwm.edu/institutional-research/reports/admissions/funnel
- Athletics Enrollment Information: Identify athletes with less than 12 credits, a grade change or a program or plan change in the last 30 days. [Will not be recreated]
- Class Roster: Identify the list of students enrolled in a given course. [Will not be recreated]
- Class Tallies: Identify the current enrollments in (a) specific course(s) as of the previous business day. [https://uwm.edu/institutional-research/class-tallies/]
- Current Plans: Identify the active students in a plan or program and their enrollment status for the current and future terms. https://uwm.edu/institutional-research/current-plans-report/

FAQ
- Why is OBIEE being decommissioned?
- OBIEE is being decommissioned for UWM student operational reporting July 1 due to the Workday implementation. OBIEE was implemented by UW System in 2016 to house shared HR and Financial queries. Individual campuses were offered space in the application to create campus specific reports. Workday will offer HR and Financial reporting capabilities therefore the OBIEE platform will no longer be necessary.
- Where will OBIEE dashboards be re-created?
- Many of the OBIEE dashboards will be re-created as a Power BI report or as a Slate CRM report.
- Why aren’t all the dashboards being re-created?
- Due to resource constraints, there is not enough capacity to build and support the full catalog of OBIEE dashboards.
- Can I receive the proper training to create the dashboards my department needs?
- While training is available for popular reporting tools such as Power BI and Tableau, the necessary training for learning the underlying tables of the Data Warehouse is not formally available. The Data Warehouse is a repository of mostly PeopleSoft data that allows for consistent reporting.
- What reporting options are available to me?
- An existing report-writer within your unit or division may replicate a report for you to use.
- Your unit or division can make a request in the data hub to convert a report. As noted, resource constraints may result in a considerable delay in report delivery or inability to approve the request.
- For those that have skills in report building which would include knowledge of structured query languages, access to the Data Warehouse may be requested.
