A note to promote: Celebrating our past and leading into our future

School is back in full swing and campus is energized by the excitement of a new academic year. This fall, we welcomed our largest first-year class in 17 years, a reflection of the confidence students and families have in the value of a UWM education.

Campus came alive during Fall Welcome with programs and events designed to help new students find their place, reconnect returning students with the Panther community, and set them up for a successful year ahead. The video below captures some of that excitement.

This Friday, I will have the honor of being inaugurated as UWM’s 10th chancellor on the university’s 70th anniversary. It is a meaningful moment to celebrate UWM’s remarkable history while looking ahead to an even brighter future. I hope you will join us for this special occasion.

This edition includes stories about the achievements of our students, faculty and alumni, along with upcoming events and opportunities toengage with the university.

Thank you for your continued support of UWM and for helping share the stories that demonstrate the impact of UWM across Milwaukee, Wisconsin and beyond.

Sincerely,

Dr. Thomas Gibson
Chancellor
