Advocate Aurora Heath COVID Vaccination Requirement for Students

Advocate Aurora Health announced that they are requiring all team members, including students, to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by October 15 to protect the safety of our patients, communities and each other. After weeks of studying the data, listening to feedback from our team members and consulting with clinical experts, they join many other organizations and health systems in our markets and across the country who have determined that the vaccine is safe, effective, and critical to ending the pandemic.

 

Details are outlined in the communication below. A few highlights for students:

  • In order to complete clinicals, or internships, student must be fully vaccinated by Oct 15, 2021.
  • If student is already vaccinated, please complete Vaccine Verification form and submit to marzena.horembala@aah.org.  Please do not submit to the email address located on the form.
  • If student is not already vaccinated, Advocate Aurora will offer Walk In Vaccine Clinics beginning the week of August 16. In the meantime, there are other options to get vaccinated including calling the local employee health office at your site or self-scheduling within the LiveWell app.
  • Please note that a vaccination card for COVID 19 is not acceptable as proof of vaccination.

  • Students are expected to use the Safe Check app before entering an AAH facility.
  • Attached is the COVID19 checklist that every student should review and sign. Please submit directly to marzena.horembala@aah.org.
  • Please note, the COVID vaccination process is similar to the flu vaccination process.  Students are required to obtain the flu vaccination. AAH will communicate when the flu season begins.
