Related Programs

The BS Biomedical Sciences: Health Sciences submajor is open to students who have successfully completed 30 or more credits as intended majors at a four-year or two-year institution. It is not open to new freshmen.

You should meet with your College of Health Sciences academic advisor to declare the major.

Your curriculum is individualized based on your previously completed coursework and your professional goals. Credits must be distributed as follows:

  • UWM’s General Education Requirements and competencies: 36 credits
  • CHS lower division credits: 27 credits (excess upper division CHS credits may count for lower division CHS credit requirements)
  • CHS upper division credits: 27 credits (at least 12 credits must be 400 level or above)
  • General electives: 30 credits

When should I meet with my advisor?

You are encouraged to meet with your advisor at least once per semester to ensure timely progress to graduation.

  • Enrolling for spring semester?
    Schedule an appointment with your advisor in October or November.
  • Enrolling for fall semester?
    Schedule an appointment with your advisor in March or April.
