Biography
Design Focus | Matt Jarosz’ architectural design work focuses on historic preservation. He combines teaching and research with his involvement in professional preservation projects and has provided extensive opportunities for students to apply academic learning.
Certificate in Preservation Studies (CPS) | Since 1993 Matt has taught many courses at SARUP and issues the CPS Certificate.
Historic Preservation Institute (HPI) | Matt created the HPI in 1998 and has been directing it since. HPI is a nationally recognized research institute developing advanced techniques and tools in laser scanning, drone documentation, and REVIT.
Foreign Study | Matt created, lectures, and continues to lead HP field operations in Japan, Italy, England, Germany and Australia.
National Tours | As Midwest advisor to the National Trust for Historic Preservation, Matt has led study trips to locations across the country for the last 33 years.
Professional Offices | Since 1978 Matt has worked in professional offices in Minneapolis, Milwaukee, and Chicago. He now runs his own firm MTJ Architects in Milwaukee.
