There are two (2) types of licensure for Speech Language Pathology. One is to work in healthcare settings and the other is to work in the public-school setting. These tables represent requirements for initial licensure. If you currently hold a license from another state, you may be eligible for licensure reciprocity.
State Licensure
Full licensure often requires completion of a Clinical Fellowship (CF) after completing the graduate program. During this period, some states offer a provisional and/or temporary license, or may even require it for CF. Meanwhile, other states do not require a clinical fellowship and candidates are advised to apply directly for licensure.
