Footage of the 6th annual Greater Milwaukee Open (GMO) pro-golf tournament held at Tuckaway Country Club in the Franklin suburb. Jim Irwin is reviewing highlights of past champions from the previous two years, like Lee Trevino seen comparing the GMO locations at North Shore and Tuckaway. The film then cuts to dated footage of an announcer presenting Dave Stockton with the winning check of $26,000 at the first GMO tournament in 1968. It cuts back to an interview by Irwin with Stockton in 1973, in which the golfer speaks about dedicating his game that day to David Earl “Swede” Savage, a childhood friend from San Bernadino, California who died just days before on July 2 in a car crash; Stockton mentions that he will donate $5,000 of his winnings to Savage’s pregnant wife and child. The remaining footage consists of interviews with Bob Mann, Andy North, and Lee Elder. The GMO was a regular golf tournament on the PGA tour, which Irwin notes in this footage had “home-town flavor.”
