The Department of World Languages & Cultures offers a Master’s in Translation & Interpreting Studies (TIS) that is ideal for students interested in translation or interpreting professions. The TIS degree offers professional training for students working in French, German, and Spanish.
This TIS program also offers coordinated Master’s degree options with Library & Information Science (MLIS) and the Master’s in Business Administration (MBA). Either coordinated degree can be completed in by students in the French-, German-, or Spanish-to-English track of TIS.
The coordinated MLIS/TIS degree is designed for students pursuing specialized positions in libraries, research institutions, or in the language services industry. All courses required for this dual degree are offered entirely online.
The coordinated MBA/TIS Master’s degree delivers graduate training to students pursuing advanced management, linguistic, and technical skills for specialized careers in fields such as international marketing, product development, or multilingual project management. All courses required for the TIS portion of this dual degree are offered entirely online.
