Looking for affordable or free food resources around Milwaukee? There are many food opportunities that are available for college students to take advantage of. Finding options that are not only affordable but also healthy and enjoyable is especially important. These locations will not only help you fulfill your hunger, but it will save you a ton of money! Here are a few accessible food resources for college students in Milwaukee: 

UWM Food Pantry: 

  • Location: Ground floor of the Student Union, along Maryland Ave.  
  • How to access the food pantry: Check in at the desk and provide the volunteer with your active UWM email or UWM ePantherID. 

Hunger Task Force: 

  • Hunger Task Force is a food bank that supplies food to emergency food pantries, soup kitchens, and homeless shelters.  
  • If you or someone you know needs emergency food, please dial 2-1-1. To call using a cell phone or pay phone, dial 414-773-0211 or toll free 1-866-211-3380. An operator will help you locate the closest emergency food pantry and/or meal program in your area. 

Milwaukee Market Match:

  • With Milwaukee Market Match, you can get FREE fruits and veggies at participating farmers’ markets. 
  • How it works: For every $1 you spend using Foodshare dollars at a market, you will receive $1 in Market Match dollars.  
  • Individuals can use up to $60 per day at participating farmers’ markets in Milwaukee County!
