Spring Fest: Building Bridges by Restoring Prairie

Free event for the whole family! Activities for all ages. Bring your friends and family.

Participate in archaeology, pottery, nature, and other family-friendly demonstrations and activities, take a hike on our hiking trails, visit with the WINC Animal Ambassadors, take a Historic Farm Building Tour, attend Peggy Rozga’s “Restoring Prairie” book launch, learn about Honeybee Temperature Regulation, take a Tour of our Prairie with Marlin Johnson, and explore the Insects in the Prairie with the UW-Madison Insect Ambassadors.

Schedule of events:

10 a.m.-3 p.m.: Archaeology, pottery, nature, and other family-friendly demonstrations and activities; take a hike on our hiking paths

10 a.m.-noon: WINC Animal Ambassador Meet and Greet

10-10:30 a.m.: Historic Farm Building Tour — Marlin Johnson

10:30-11:30 a.m.: Peggy Rozga’s Restoring Prairie book launch and poetry reading

Noon-1 p.m.: Stay cool: Exploring how honeybees regulate hive temperature — Chelsea Cook, Marquette University

1-2 p.m.: Prairie Tour — Marlin Johnson

2-3 p.m.: Insects and the Prairie — UW-Madison Insect Ambassadors

Plan to stay the whole day. Dress for the weather and bring a lunch. Updates and event schedule will be posted on our FB page. Donations are greatly appreciated and will be applied to our bridge repair fund.
