Since 2015 the UW MIA Recovery and Identification Project has partnered with the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) to help recover the remains of Missing in Action (MIA) American Armed Services Personnel lost during World War II. This presentation highlights how archaeology helps fulfill our Nation’s promise to provide the fullest possible accounting of MIA individuals to their families, communities, and fellow service members.
