I have been a professional in Student Affairs for 10 years as of 2015. Currently I work with students who have financial troubles, extenuating circumstances, and medical emergencies to help them be successful and navigate resources. I also work as a student ombuds. Previously, I worked as an instructor and as an advisor for the TRiO McNair Scholars Program at another institution. Prior to this I worked in Residence Life for a number of years. I am passionate about matters related to equity in higher education with specific attention on income, race, race, ethnicity, and gender. Currently, I research how institutional culture and climate affects students. My hope is to influence policies, processes, and programs to better harness students’ strengths (rather than focus on deficits).
