LaShawndra Vernon is a driven creative entrepreneur committed to promoting equity and social justice. With extensive experience as a mediator, she specializes in translating international human rights treaties and sustainability goals into practical local policy. Her expertise in mediation has been pivotal in resolving conflicts and fostering understanding in various sectors. LaShawndra also excels in policy systems and environmental change, focusing on implementing comprehensive reforms that promote public health and social equity.

LaShawndra supports arts and culture institutions in disaster preparedness, helping them build resilience against crises. She is a published author of training programs on conflict transformation, violence prevention, and harm reduction, demonstrating her dedication to fostering safe and harmonious communities.

Known as Firey Phoenix, LaShawndra is a dynamic multidisciplinary artist, writer, and archivist. Her creative work and activism reflect her passion for using the arts to drive positive social change. She has a proven track record of developing and implementing innovative programs that support growth and sustainability in public health, arts, and culture sectors.

LaShawndra is the founding chair of the Human Trafficking Task Force of Greater Milwaukee. She serves as the chair of the Bronzeville Advisory Committee for the City of Milwaukee and is a member of the Cultural Artistic & Musical Programming Advisory Council (CAMPAC) for Milwaukee County. Additionally, she has been appointed to the Wisconsin Arts Board by Governor Tony Evers, further extending her impact in the arts and culture community. Her strategic leadership and commitment to community development have made significant impacts in these roles.
