Martin Keane, MSW, LCSW

Martin Keane is a clinical assistant professor and social work field liaison in the Social Work Department at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. For the past 20 years, Martin has worked in an outpatient clinic with specialty areas that include children and families. One of his focus areas has been trauma, using play as a modality. He has also focused on work and relationship issues through Employee Assistance Program contracts.
After earning his MSW with a dual concentration of mental health and children, youth, and families, Martin worked in schools as a guidance counselor and with the Families and Schools Together program (F.A.S.T.). Additionally, while fulfilling the 3,000 hours toward his LCSW, he worked as a program director for a supervised visitation program.
Martin has lectured at the UW-Madison School of Social Work, teaching several courses including: Treating and Assessing Children and Adolescents; Psychopathology in Generalist Social Work Practice; Social Work with Small Groups; and Interventions with Children, Youth and Families. He is originally from the South Side of Chicago and has lived in Wisconsin for more than 30 years.
