
The Helen Bader School of Social Welfare has received a grant from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction that focuses on increasing diversity, mental and behavioral health competencies in school social workers.
The DPI grant supports Master of Social Work students in the school social work track with a stipend beginning in Fall 2025.

Program Requirements
- Must maintain MSW student status and a GPA of 3.0 or better.
- Includes a field placement in a school social work setting.
- Must include some trauma informed care classes.
Who Should Apply
- Any MSW student admitted to the program who meets the program eligibility and requirements.
- Low-income students and students who speak a second language are encouraged to apply.
When to Apply
- Student should apply as early as possible once admitted to the MSW or non-degree program.
- Application deadline: Friday, Aug. 15, 2025
