National Student Employment Week Celebration
National Student Employment Week is celebrated across the country in April and UWM is joining this year by bringing back Panthers at Work, a week of fun activities for student employees and their supervisors.
Sign up to know all the details, and complete challenges throughout April 10-16 to earn points. The supervisor-student(s) team with the most points will take the Panthers at Work Cup home.
Events
April 10: Office/department/space decorating challenge
We provide the basics to help you decorate your space to celebrate your student employees. Don’t forget to post a photo to our Panthers Connect Group!
April 11: Job-prep day for student employees
Attend an on-campus employer panel at 1-2pm, followed by a resume and professional pitch review event at 2-3pm.
April 12: Make a Difference Day
Register as a team with your students for this volunteer events helping older adults in the community clean their yards. Enjoy free pizza once you finish and remember to post a photo!
April 14: Dodgeball Challenge
Space available for 16 teams, on a first come first serve basis. Sign up your students and have them come to the Pavilion Gym at their chosen time for a game of dodgeball where student employees will team up with each other for a fun time.
April 14: Sprinkled with Gratitude
Swing by the Union Concourse from 9–10 a.m. for a free donut and a chance to share your gratitude with a 414 for UWM donor.
April 15: Panthers on the Plaza Spirit Day
Wear black and gold and swing by Spaights Plaza from 11 a.m – 1pm for food, music, a 360-degree photobooth, and custom airbrushed t-shirts.
April 16: Internship, Part-Time and Career Connections Fair
Attend to meet employers hiring for internships, on-campus, part and full-time job opportunities as well as summer jobs.
April 16: Global Works: Pathways to Local and International Careers Fair
Global Works is an opportunity to explore pathways to local and International careers that leverage the skills and orientations developed through global and language studies.
