Supporting International Students with Employment and Career Development Goals

Join us on Wednesday, March 5 from 2 – 3 pm in Vogel Hall for a presentation designed to enhance your understanding and support of UWM’s international student community’s employment and career development goals. The overall goal is to give an overview of the students & their needs, share what we have been doing, and offer resources & suggestions on how you can support their professional journeys or refer students.
Learning goals include:
- Gain awareness of the international student population and enrollment trends at UWM.
- Understand the foundations of work authorizations available for international students and how you might support them
- Gain knowledge about common career-related needs & concerns shared by international students.
- Learn about current initiatives led by SET and CIE in collaboration with schools & colleges.
- Identify when & how to refer students to SET vs. CIE
