In the UW-Milwaukee Speech Acoustics & Development Laboratory we seek to improve the speech intelligibility of L2 (a person’s second language) learners and speakers who struggle with speech-language-hearing impairments.
Our current research includes:
- Speech characteristics of bilingual Mandarin-English children
- Speech development of children with cochlear implants
- Perception of degraded speech by L2 listeners
