Interests & Expertise
Barbara Pauloski's research focus is normal and disordered swallowing. She is interested in swallowing disorders in a full range of adult patient populations, with a primary interest in swallowing function in persons treated for head & neck cancer. She has co-authored more than seventy publications in the areas of speech and swallowing function after surgery for cancer of the head and neck, impact of chemoradiation for head and neck cancer on swallowing function, examination of rehabilitation strategies for persons with dysphagia, and documentation of normal swallowing function and changes with aging. Pauloski plans to continue her research in collaboration with her colleagues in the College of Health Sciences and others in the Milwaukee health care system.
