Interests & Expertise

Andrew has 10 years of experience as an occupational therapist and 1 year as an occupational therapy educator within UWM’s Occupational Therapy Program. He has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including primary work in acute care, inpatient rehab and skilled nursing as well as experience in hospital based pediatric and behavioral health care.

Andrew completed his Bachelor's and Master's, degrees at UWM, where he also served as a Peer Health Educator through the student wellness center for three years. Within the clinical world, Andrew focused on expanding educational opportunities and support for therapists within his health system through improved employee onboarding/cross training strategies, EMR/EHR education and development of CEU courses. Additionally, he has had amazing experiences as a fieldwork educator for several students over the years and is proud of the impact they have been able to make in their respective areas of practice. This has inspired Andrew to join the academic fieldwork coordination team within the UWM OT program.

Andrew is passionate about providing OT services to a wide patient population, however, has found a particular passion in advocating for improved/modernized care for the bariatric and neuro-based populations across the continuum of care. Andrew would also like to support interprofessional education across the allied health professions and reduce the gap between classroom and clinical education.
