Dr. Mason A.D. Drake is currently a PhD student at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) working in the Rehabilitation Research Design & Disability (R₂D₂) Center on the NIDILRR funded AccessRatings for Buildings (ARB) project with Dr. Roger O. Smith, Ph.D., OT, FAOTA, RESNA Fellow. Dr. Drake is in the PhD Health Sciences Program with a concentration in assistive technology and accessible design and a cross-disciplinary concentration of measurement principles. He has presented at the state and national level for conferences including the Wisconsin Occupational Therapy Association (WOTA), Occupational Therapy Summit for Scholars, Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA) and American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine (ACRM), while also being involved in the funded projects of NSF I-Corps and the University of Pittsburgh’s IMPACT Boot Camp and Start Up. Dr. Drake graduated with a Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) from Nova Southeastern University in 2019 and conducted graduate level research investigating the Utilization of Assistive Devices Among Individuals with Low Vision. He also serves as a journal reviewer for the American Journal of Occupational Therapy (AJOT) in the topics of low vision, visual impairment and visual adaptation.
