Major Exploration Tools and Activities

  • Universities of Wisconsin offers a MyMajors assessment — that’s a short quiz on your interests, skills, and background which then produces a top ten list of majors that might be good fits for you.  You can limit that list just to majors that UWM offers, or explore majors across the Universities of Wisconsin campuses.
  • UWM’s catalog can be filtered to display a list of all of UWM’s majors, which can be searched or filtered by School/College, online availability, and other factors. Majors listed there go to UWM’s catalog pages, detailing degree- and major-specific requirements as well as advising information.
  • Our Major Exploration Worksheet (PDF) has a number of ways to explore majors while allowing you to increase your knowledge/awareness of yourself.
  • Ten Questions to Ask About Majors (PDF) is a handout we’ve created for UWM’s Exploring Majors Fair, but it can be useful for any major-related discussion!

Academic Self-Assessment

  • Are you worried about your GPA or status at UWM? Use this self-assessment tool (PDF) to review your academic performance at UWM and prepare for future semesters.

Academic Advising Offices

  • Are you interested in talking to an advisor within a major or program of interest? UWM Advising has contact information for all of the advising offices at UWM.
