Photo Requirements for ID Submission

Guidelines for submitting an acceptable selfie for official use, such as a student ID or identification card. Outlining requirements for photo quality, composition, background, and subject to ensure the image meets identification standards.

  • Is your face clearly visible in the photo?
    • Your selfie should clearly show your face for identification purposes.
  • Are you facing directly toward the camera?
    • Photos should not be taken from the side or at an angle.
  • Is your photo properly cropped?
    • Make sure your head and shoulders are centered and clearly visible.
  • Is the photo in portrait orientation?
    • Portrait format works best for identification cards.
  • Is the background light and neutral?
    • Avoid busy or scenic backgrounds.
  • Is the photo in color?
    • Black-and-white or filtered photos are not accepted.
  • Is your face free from red-eye or glare?
    • Make sure there are no reflections or lighting effects that obscure your features.
  • Are you free of hats, sunglasses, or other face coverings?
    • Your full face must be clearly visible. Religious head coverings are permitted.
  • Is the photo of you only?
    • Group photos, pets, or mascot images should not be included.
