Participate in a study about adult runners!
The UWM Physical Activity & Health Research Laboratory is conducting a study about adult runners and different types of running shoes. The purpose of the study is to test the performance of carbon plated running shoes with traditional running shoes in recreational runners and competitive runners.
Why Participate?

- Help UWM researchers understand how carbon plated running shoes compare with traditional running shoes
- Free parking for study visits at UWM
What's Involved?
- 3 sessions, 1 to 1.5 hours each, at the Physical Activity & Health Research Laboratory
- Complete running tests while wearing two different types of shoes
- Wear a Garmin watch for two separate one week periods
Do I Qualify?
You may be eligible if you ...
- Are 18 to 39 years of age
- Have at least 5 years of running experience
- Ran at least 20 miles per week for the past month
- Have not had any injuries that impacted training within the past 3 months
- Meet the criteria for a VO2 max test
- Wear one of the following shoe sizes:
- Men: 10.0, 10.5, 11
- Women: 8.0, 8.5, 9.0
