Urgent VPN Portal Maintenance – January 15, 2026 – 10:00PM to 11:00PM

To fix a critical issue with the VPN portal, urgent software upgrades will take place this evening affecting remote-access.uwm.edu. The upgrades require a restart of the UWM GlobalProtect VPN portal. During this reboot, new VPN connections will be unavailable. The process is expected to take roughly 20 minutes to complete.

Devices already connected to the VPN should not see an effect.

Devices attempting to connect their GlobalProtect client to remote-access.uwm.edu will fail during the restart.

Devices already connected should maintain connections without any noticeable effect.
