Winter 2026 Bi-Annual Network Maintenance – North Campus – January 17, 2026 10:00PM – 04:00AM

Work on network core infrastructure supporting the north half of UWM’s Kenwood Campus will take place January 17, 2026, starting at 10:00PM CST.

During this period, UITS Network Engineering staff will complete necessary software upgrades on core network infrastructure to maintain security and limit risks to service stability.

The upgrades will cause some network access disruption as various core components reboot/failover/reload configurations. These interruptions will affect internet and service access for all networks, ethernet, and WiFi in the covered areas and manifest as loss of internet access or access to remote network resources. Any service disruptions should be between a few seconds, up to possibly 15 minutes. Endpoint hosts (computers, printers, networked devices) should not lose network link but will see interrupted access to any service outside their local building. VPN access may be reset for clients connected during the work period. Network access may be interrupted more than once during the maintenance window.
