Sticky Particle Solutions of the Euler Alignment system
This talk is about the Euler Alignment system from the field of collective behavior. After a primer on modeling considerations and the equations at issue, we discuss the weak solution theory developed by Leslie and Tan via using a sticky particle discretization technique pioneered by Brenier and Grenier. The special structure of the equations allows us a detailed look into the time-asymptotic behavior of the system, including the structure of so-called “flocking states”.
