Help M³ promote FAFSA and unlock access to college

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is a key to unlocking access to higher education for students from lower-income households.

Nationwide, 100,000 fewer high school seniors completed the FAFSA this past fall compared to last year, according to the National College Attainment Network.

M3 – a groundbreaking partnership connecting Milwaukee Public Schools, Milwaukee Area Technical College and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee — has driven higher FAFSA completion in recent years and will continue to work tirelessly to promote this critical step in the college process.

This video focuses on M3 strategies to combat the decline — and how community members can support students accessing higher education.

M3 partner strategies included:

  • In-person FAFSA support for two weeks in April during the pandemic at MPS high schools
  • Virtual support at MPS College & Career Centers
  • MATC Live! Financial Aid sessions
  • Paid MPS, MATC and UW System advertising to promote FAFSA
