The Milwaukee Public Library, along with many community partners including UWM’s Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies, has received a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts for a community Big Read of Julia Alvarez’s novel In the Time of Butterflies. Events on campus include a storytelling workshop with Ex Fabula on Thursday, April 13; a roundtable especially for teachers on Saturday, April 22; and a discussion of the book in Spanish on May 4.
