During this time, Dr. Matthew bore witness to a nine-month-long social uprising that culminated in the rise of Bernardo Arévalo and Karin Herrera to the executive office of Guatemala, along with their Semilla party’s ascendancy to leadership in Congress despite relentless efforts to thwart their progress.
Dr. Matthew will share her first-hand impressions, offering unique insights into this historic period of change and the implications it holds for Guatemala’s future.
